I have worked with a wide variety of adults and children in different environments over the last twenty five years in my roles as a Teacher of Gifted and Learning Disabled Children, Personal Trainer, Life Coach and Counsellor. I am currently working towards a psychotherapist qualification with the Institute of Psychosynthesis.
The common theme in all of my work is to help enable people to reach their full potential.
I use a relational approach, providing a safe and supportive environment within which we can address your particular difficulties together. I work in a holistic way which looks at you as an entire individual (thoughts, feelings, behaviors, spirituality and sexuality) in the context of your past, present and desired future. My work incorporates a number of modalities, such as Psychosynthesis, Mindfulness/Mentalising, Art Therapy, Life Coaching, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Circle of Security Parenting.
After or during a stressful life event or stage I can help you become more aware of troubling patterns of thoughts, emotions, behaviours or relationships. Our busy lives can keep us trapped in these old, limiting patterns within ourselves and with others. This sense of feeling trapped may undermine our well-being and begin limiting our potential causing anxiety, depression and/or anger. By working together I can help you identify and escape the pain these patterns cause. This work can enable you to build self-awareness and the capacity to create positive change in your life. It can help you to become more mindful, more in charge of the choices you make, stronger and more able to build healthy relationships. Being in charge in this way will enhance an overall sense of peace and well-being.
